Financial Coordinator (Unpaid)

Position Overview:
The Financial Coordinator will play a key role in managing and coordinating InventHER’s grant applications and financial reporting processes. Responsibilities include researching grant opportunities, preparing application materials, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements to support the organization’s mission and financial objectives. This role involves close collaboration with program teams and leadership to secure funding that aligns with InventHER’s goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, financially savvy, and experienced in grant writing and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Research & Application: Identify and evaluate grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s goals. Prepare compelling, accurate grant applications to maximize funding prospects.

  • Financial Reporting: Track and report on the financial performance of awarded grants, ensuring adherence to grant requirements and maintaining accurate financial documentation.

  • Collaboration: Partner with program teams and leadership to gather necessary information for applications and align funding with program objectives.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for grant applications, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and alignment with InventHER’s financial goals.

  • Grant Compliance: Ensure timely submission of financial reports and other required documentation to maintain compliance with grant terms and funder expectations.

  • Financial Planning Support: Contribute to financial planning and forecasting by analyzing grant revenues and expenditures, informing future funding strategies.

Time Commitment: 5-6 hours per week

Requirements:

  • Interest in financial management, grant writing, or related fields, preferably within a nonprofit or grant-focused setting.

  • Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, nonprofit management, or a related discipline.

  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, and grant application processes, with experience securing grant funding.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple grant applications and reporting tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent written communication skills for crafting persuasive grant narratives and clear financial documents.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and application submissions.

  • Collaborative skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams to collect and compile necessary information for grant processes.

  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., Excel) for budgeting and expenditure tracking.
