Product Manager (Unpaid)

Position Overview:

As the Product Manager for InventHER’s iOS app, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the app’s development. This includes collaborating with the development team, defining the product vision, and ensuring alignment with InventHER’s mission to empower young women. You will lead the creation of core features such as Careers, Events, Join Us, Published Articles, and Resources tabs, and manage the roadmap to deliver a user-friendly and impactful app. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, a passion for technology, and a desire to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Define and communicate the vision, goals, and roadmap for the InventHER iOS app.

  • Prioritize features and improvements based on user needs, organizational goals, and technical feasibility.

  1. Collaboration with Development Team:

    • Work closely with the iOS developer(s) to ensure features like Careers, Events, Join Us, Published Articles, and Resources are implemented successfully.

    • Provide clear requirements, wireframes, and user stories for all features.

  2. Feature Development:

    • Oversee the creation of:

      • Careers Tab: A section where users can explore job opportunities.

      • Events Tab: A space for users to sign up for upcoming events.

      • Join Us Link: A portal for volunteers to join the InventHER community.

      • Published Articles Section: Highlighting key insights and updates from the InventHER team.

      • Resources Tab: Offering guides, tools, and content for community members.

  3. User-Centered Design:

    • Conduct user research to understand the needs and preferences of the target audience.

    • Ensure the app’s features and layout are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with InventHER’s mission.

  4. Project Management:

    • Track progress, manage timelines, and ensure on-time delivery of app features.

    • Coordinate communication between stakeholders, including developers and the InventHER team.

  5. Quality Assurance and Testing:

    • Ensure that the app is thoroughly tested for usability, performance, and functionality before launch.

    • Gather and analyze user feedback for continuous improvement.

Time Commitment: 5-6 hours per week

Requirements:

  • Passion for empowering women and supporting InventHER’s mission.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience or interest in product management or app development.

  • Ability to create product roadmaps and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles and agile development is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of iOS app development and technical constraints (not mandatory).

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
