City Program Coordinator - Community Building (Unpaid)

Position Overview:
The City Program Coordinator for Community Building will support the planning and execution of local engagement events aimed at connecting young professional women in their city. This role involves managing logistics, working with local partners, and ensuring seamless event operations that align with InventHER’s mission. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will play a key role in fostering community connections and delivering impactful events. Ideal candidates are organized, communicative, and able to manage multiple responsibilities within deadlines. Prior experience in event planning and community outreach is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Oversight: Assist in planning, executing, and evaluating local community and workplace events.

  • Team Support: Coordinate with other Program Coordinators to ensure smooth planning and logistics.

  • Operational Support: Work with the Program Manager to implement strategic plans that enhance event quality and engagement.

  • Budget Support: Monitor event budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively and responsibly.

  • Logistics Management: Handle all event logistics, including venue and vendor coordination, to ensure smooth operations.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs and gather feedback to improve future events.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, partners, and vendors for successful event delivery.

  • Problem Solving: Address logistical challenges during events, ensuring minimal disruption.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure events meet safety standards and organizational policies.

  • Reporting: Contribute to post-event reports, summarizing key takeaways to refine event strategies.

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week

Requirements:

  • 0-1+ years of experience in event planning, community engagement, or nonprofit operations, with a focus on supporting multi-city or regional events.

  • Strong organizational skills, with experience managing logistics and event resources across multiple projects.

  • Collaborative mindset for working effectively with internal teams, partners, and vendors.

  • Ability to support budget management and ensure cost-effective planning.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement and public representation.

  • Problem-solving ability for handling real-time challenges during events.

  • Basic understanding of compliance, safety regulations, and risk management in events.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.

  • Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree (preferred in business, communications, or related fields, but open to all disciplines).
