Chief Operations Officer (Unpaid)

Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee InventHER’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth collaboration across all departments to meet our mission and strategic goals. Working closely with leadership, the COO will implement strategies that drive efficiency, enhance organizational growth, and improve overall impact. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized leader with experience in operations management, team leadership, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, ensuring processes run smoothly across departments.

  • Program Development: Review and contribute to workshops that align with InventHER’s mission.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership on long-term plans that drive mission success.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies to improve organizational performance.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor department heads, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Budget Management: Work with the CFO to ensure financial sustainability.

  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and make data-driven improvements.

  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance and mitigate operational risks.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Promote a collaborative culture and coordinate effectively across departments.

Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years in corporate roles (consulting, finance, operations, or management/strategy preferred).

  • Strong commitment to gender equity and women’s empowerment, with knowledge of key issues.

  • Experience in operational scaling, financial sustainability, and translating goals into action.

  • Proven record of managing daily operations and driving mission-aligned efficiencies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public policy, or a related field.
